Passenger Princess: God at the wheel
What is the driving force in your life?
As believers, our immediate response might be to say "God." Yet, upon closer inspection, we may find ourselves being driven by other, less desirable forces. These "bad drivers" can take many forms:
Problems: Issues that consume our thoughts and energy.
Pressure: Expectations from work, society, or ourselves.
Fear: Paralysis in the face of God's calling due to uncertainty or anxiety.
Guilt: Past mistakes that haunt and hinder our progress.
Pain: Hurts inflicted by others that dictate our actions.
However, God calls us to relinquish control and assume the role of "📹 passenger princesses." In this position, we can relax and entrust God to take the wheel, while we fulfill our responsibilities:
Trust God as the Driver: Scripture tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to lean not on our understanding but to trust in God's guidance. Knowing that He is leading us in the right direction at all times, we can have confidence that we will reach our destination safely and at the perfect time.
Listen + Be a Receptive Hearer: Just as in the parable of the sower in the book of Luke, there are various responses to God's Word. However, our goal is to emulate the seeds that fell on good soil, cultivating hearts that are open and receptive to God's Word, and bearing fruit with patience.
Handle the (Text) Message: Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19-20 reminds us to share the gospel boldly, both in word and deed. Though this task may seem daunting, we are reassured that God accompanies us every step of the way.
Prayer
Lord, as I assume the role of a passenger princess, I entrust my life to your capable hands. Help me to trust your guidance, cultivate a receptive heart, and share your message boldly. May my life serve as a living testimony that Jesus is truly Lord over every aspect of my being, not just a mere saying.
Amen.
