Living Legacies: in our Abraham era

Raise your hand if you've ever created a vision board (raises hand high 🙋🏾‍♀️).

It's a tangible expression of our aspirations and dreams, a roadmap for our personal ambitions. But what about a vision that transcends our own lifetime—a generational vision, also known as our legacy?

When we ponder legacy, one figure stands out prominently: Abraham, renowned as the Father of Faith. His unwavering obedience, epitomized in his willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac, illustrates profound faith in God's promises.

In Genesis 22:17, God assures Abraham of blessings and descendants as numerous as the stars.

Though Abraham didn't witness the complete fulfillment of God's promises, his legacy endures. His story compels us to reflect not only on the visible footprint we leave on the world but also on the invisible aspects of our lives—our thoughts and the posture of our hearts. These unseen elements shape our character and ultimately define our legacy before God

As we consider what we wish to be remembered for, may we strive to cultivate legacies that resonate with God's purposes and bring glory to His name.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for the lives you've entrusted us with. May we honor this calling by living intentionally in every facet, from our relationships to our careers, even the thoughts we harbor toward others. Help us recognize that our legacy is not merely a distant goal but the culmination of our daily actions.

Amen.
